Vacuum cleaner nozzles chosen on fitting size and job
A vacuum cleaner nozzle decides how much dust you actually pick up and how fast you get through a space. A crevice nozzle lifts drilling dust out of corners and window rebates, a wide floor nozzle clears floors and scaffold boards, and an upholstery nozzle handles fabric and machine covers without scratching them.
Fitting size is the first selection. Nozzles run from 25 to 50 mm, with 35 mm and 36 mm the most common diameters on site vacuums. Measure the hose diameter before you order, because a coupling that only half fits leaks air and costs suction.
Then look at the material and at the edge. Plastic nozzles are light and corrosion free, while aluminium tubes and floor nozzles stand up to daily use on site. Brush edges protect finished surfaces, rubber lips pull fine dust off smooth floors better. If you work with a vacuum cleaner tube in extendable sections, check that the nozzle fits the same taper. Change the dust bag at the same time as soon as suction falls off, because a saturated bag makes any nozzle slow.
